Hi, I’m Dr. Stephanie Susberich, a composer, vocalist, and educator with over ten years of teaching experience working with children, teenagers, and adults. I hold a Doctorate in Music Composition, a Master’s degree in Classical Voice, a Master’s degree in Composition, and a Graduate Diploma in Composition.

I have taught beginner piano to young children in my own private studio, as well as for several music schools, including a Montessori school in Boston. I love introducing young students to music in a way that feels welcoming, encouraging, and joyful, while also giving them a strong foundation in piano, rhythm, and musical listening.

In addition to piano, I’ve taught voice, songwriting, and composition to students of all ages, from elementary school children to teens and adults. As a doctoral student, I also taught undergraduate music courses, which has deeply shaped how I approach teaching with clarity, structure, and patience.

I’m very active as a performer and composer here in New York City and currently run my own salons and concert series centered in the downtown East Village and Lower East Side. Being part of this neighborhood community is important to me, and I love working with families locally.

My teaching style is warm, calm, and creative. I believe music lessons should feel safe, engaging, and inspiring, especially for young children who are just beginning their musical journey. My goal is to help students build confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of music that can grow with them over time.
