After traveling the world, working and living as a musical freelancer in different countries, I settled in NYC and became a music teacher in various pre-schools and a private teacher for children all over the city.

Hi! I am Simon, I am a versatile multi-instrumentalist and dedicated music educator who graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (Australia). With over 35 years of teaching experience, I offer private lessons in drum kit, percussion, guitar, ukulele, recorder, clarinet, beginner bass guitar and piano, both in person and online. It is my main goal to make lessons informal, fun, and engaging. I often use songs that students are familiar with to maintain their interest and incorporate music theory and a strong rudimentary foundation as well. My aim is to foster a greater enthusiasm and love for music in each student, tailoring lessons to their unique needs and interests.

Some of my past students have gone on to become professional musicians, Berklee College of Music attendees, and an Australia’s Got Talent finalist.

Hi my name is Brenda, I graduated from the Conservatory of Music in Torino, Italy with a Degree in Music History and obtained a Music Degree at Hunter College after I moved to New York City. 
Besides performing in various piano competitions as a soloist and collaborating with chamber ensembles and opera singers, I always enjoyed fostering a love for music with Pre-schoolers and Elementary School students. I teach music in English and Italian.

Hello! My name is Manuel, better known as Mr. Manny! I graduated from Temple University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I've been teaching music for a little over 20 years. I focus on music theory first and foremost on the piano/keyboard, and use what I learn from my students to make a personalized curriculum for each of them, as well as to help find the instrument that speaks to what they've grown to know. 

Whether it’s piano, drums, percussion, guitar, or even computer-based composition, my goal is to spark creativity and help students explore the full range of musical possibilities—no matter what their ultimate path may be. After all, how can anyone know what they’ll be great at until they’ve had the chance to try?

Hello! My name is Stephen Tamas, but my friends call me Steph. I am a multi-instrumentalist, composer, improviser, and educator based in NYC. I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music and Boston Conservatory studying performance. I play with multiple groups ranging across every genre from classical music to jazz to pop, or even the avant-garde.

As a teacher, I hope to inspire my students to not just enjoy music, but all aspects of life. I try my best to teach skills and ideas that students can carry with them for the rest of their lives whether that applies to sports, math and science, or the arts.

Hi! My name is Martin Noh, and I’m a Korean-Canadian violinist and dedicated teacher with a deep love for both performing and helping others grow through music. I studied at the Eastman School of Music and later on obtained a Bachelor Degree at Montclair State University. I’ve been fortunate to perform across North America, Europe, and beyond as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. I made my solo debut with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony in 2015 and have since performed with orchestras throughout Ontario. As a member of the award-winning Kodak Quartet, I’ve also been featured on NPR, CBC, and Radio-Canada.
As a teacher, I believe every student’s journey is unique. I tailor each lesson to match the student’s learning style, goals, and personality. Whether you’re preparing for competitions, auditions, or simply playing for joy, my goal is to build a strong technical foundation while nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love for music. I’ve had the privilege of seeing students I have worked closely with thrive, earning top prizes at competitions, gaining acceptance into prestigious music schools, and performing with organizations like NYO-USA.
Most of all, I want my students to feel inspired and supported every step of the way.

My name is José Luis Oliveira, but most people know me as Zé Luis. I’m a seven-time Grammy Award nominee, and over the past 40 years, I’ve built a career as a composer, arranger, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, working across Brazil, the United States, and touring internationally.

I started out in the 1980s as a session musician in Brazil, and since then, my musical journey has taken me into studios, onto stages, and into film scoring rooms around the world.

I’m also the founder of The Atelier Music Studio, where I compose, produce, and record music for films, TV, and multimedia projects. Beyond production, the studio is a space for education—something I’m deeply passionate about. Sharing my experience and helping shape the next generation of musicians is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.
